Peyton is a small community town located 30 minutes east of Colorado Springs and Monument in south-central Colorado. Today, we take you through the top 5 things you should know before you move to Peyton, Colorado and its top attractions from 5 to 1, with 1 being the best point about moving here. Read on!
#5 Distance
Even though Peyton used to the countryside, with Colorado Springs expanding quickly, it is absorbing Peyton into its community. When people say they’re moving to Colorado Springs, Peyton also slowly becomes a part of their vocabulary as it’s fast becoming a place that’s highly sought after.
From Christian Brothers Automotive Woodmen and Powers in Colorado Springs, the actual town of Peyton is just a 10-minute drive away.
#4 More house for your money
You get a lot more space in a house in Peyton than you would in Colorado Springs. If you want a $430,000 house, you would get a smaller piece of land, with a smaller backyard and fewer number of bedrooms in Colorado Springs when compared to Peyton. Since 2016, the houses in Peyton have different HOAs and are on a bigger piece of land going up to half an acre at times. These houses also come with detached garages with ample spaces to park your RVs.
#3 Recreation at Peyton
Peyton may be a small community, but don’t go by its size when it comes to the houses or what’s available for recreation!
In Peyton you have all of the things you need to thrive. From grocery stores (like Walmart), restaurants, and community centers to pools, and public golf courses, Peyton can be a treasure trove when it comes to activities.
From Peyton, you can see the Pikes Peak and the mountains, & you can also visit the Homestead Ranch Park over there. Perfect recreational activity if you have horses, like fishing or just want to spend a quiet afternoon out with your family.
The Paint Mines are another attraction that’s close by. Named for their colorful clays that were collected by American Indians to make paint, the Paint Mines also make for a fun family outing.
#2 Low HOAs
The metro fee is $170 a month which covers 500 gallons of water, your septic, covenant enforcement and street lights. It also includes access to the community center and the outdoor pool which you and your kids can enjoy during the summer.
#1 New Buildings
The number 1 reason why we get the most number of requests for the Peyton area is because that’s where all of the new buildings are coming up. Peyton is, undoubtedly, one of the fastest growing new build communities in Colorado Springs.
A myriad of different builders, like Covington and Saint Aubyn, are developing that area by building planned communities. But if that’s not for you, you have the option of getting more acreage in Peyton too. In Colorado Springs, on the other hand, getting land with acreage can be tricky as you are in the center of the town. However, in Peyton, you are presented with the options of building a new home, buying a home with land, or living in and experiencing a new build.
A lot of people want a home that has been built within the last few years and most of their requests are for ranch-style homes. In Colorado Springs, you can easily get a home built in the late 2000s and a lot of the new builders have ranch-style plans for the new builds keeping in mind the demand for the same.
Peyton is a great place for families looking to settle down, or if you want to lead your retired life in peace. The biggest plus points of this slow-paced town would be less traffic and its proximity to Colorado Springs.
